Dear Parents/Guardians,
In the Reading Room, skills taught in the regular classroom are reinforced and skills students have not yet mastered are reviewed. Lessons are designed to support learning and expand students' knowledge of language, words, and how they work. Children receive support in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. I am in contact with the classroom teachers regularly to ensure we are meeting the learning needs of each student. In addition, I regularly assess students to ensure they are provided with books at their independent levels and instruction tailored to their needs. It is my hope to promote and foster a lifelong love for reading and share my enthusiasm for literacy with students and their families.
